LENT 2018

During the Sundays of Lent, Pastor Kendall will teaching a series called 40 Days: a season of transformation. We believe that during these 40 days leading up to Easter, deep and lasting transformation can occur as we re-focus ourselves on God. What would happen in our spiritual lives — what would happen in our church — if we truly “leaned in” on all that God wants to do in us and through us, transforming us from the inside out?

  • 02/18 – Turning
  • 02/25 – Denying
  • 03/04 – Praying
  • 03/11 – Believing
  • 03/18 – Following
  • 03/25 – Trusting

Are you fairly new to Crossroads and have questions? Or perhaps you would like a tour of the campus or learn more about the ministries here? If so, please join us after the 9:00am or the 10:45am Gathering in The City Cafe, located at the north end of the foyer.

It is a great privilege to be able to celebrate baptism.  If you are interested in being baptized, you are invited to the Baptism Class. This class will cover the history of baptism, the importance of baptism in the church, and baptism at Crossroads. This class is a requirement to be baptized at Crossroads.  We will meet Sunday, March 18, after the second Gathering in the Ministry Center.

Running concurrently with the adult/teen baptism class, we are offering a class for children taught by our Lead Children’s Pastor, Heidi Ellis. If you have a child who is interested in being baptized, please consider registering them for this class. We ask that a parent attend the class with their child.

To reserve your lunch and childcare for the adult/teen class, or for the children’s class, please CLICK HERE.

The Easter Egg Hunt is coming to Crossroads on Saturday, March 31, 10:00am-12:00pm.

Join the fun with Waffle Love Food Truck, Petting Zoo, Inflatables, and a Photo Booth, with the Egg Hunt for Birth-6th Grade at 11:00am.

Bring your family and invite a friend!

There are lots of ways to volunteer. Whether it’s stuffing eggs, prepping fields, manning an inflatable, or mingling with families , we have a spot for you to serve. This event gives us an awesome opportunity to show guests what it’s like to be a part of the Crossroads family.

We are in need of individually wrapped “non-chocolate" candy. Candy can be dropped off by March 18 at the Family Ministries Kiosk or you can give money towards the purchase of candy at the Kiosk or DONATE ONLINE.

Lots of people think Christianity is all about doing what Jesus says. But what if doing what Jesus says isn’t what Jesus says to do at all? Jesus’ invitation is an invitation to relationship, and it begins with a simple request: follow me.

Our next Adult Spring Discipleship Elective begins Wednesday, April 4, at 6:30pm in Worship Center room 107. We’ll be using Andy Stanley’s series entitled Follow.

Religion says “Change and you can join us.” Jesus says, “Join us and you will change.” There’s a huge difference. Jesus doesn’t expect people to be perfect. He just wants them to follow him. Being a sinner doesn’t disqualify anyone. Being an unbeliever doesn’t disqualify anyone. In fact, following almost always begins with a sinner and unbeliever taking one small step.

In this eight-session video-based Bible study, Andy Stanley takes you on a journey through the Gospels as he traces Jesus’ teaching on what it means to follow.

Annual Church Board Elections will be held in both Sunday Morning Gatherings on Sunday, March 18, for the new church year 2018/2019, which begins April 1.

Members, who have reached their 15th birthday, will cast their votes to elect five new Church Board Members. You must be present and a member of Crossroads to vote.

Bio’s of the candidates along with a sample ballot are available at the link below. They will also be available this Sunday at the Information Desk.

We will be honoring all high school graduates on Sunday, May 20, 2018. We are excited about this day of celebration and don’t want to miss anyone. If you have a high school graduating senior in your home, please stop by the Family Ministries Kiosk this Sunday to pick up a questionnaire. In order to be included in the booklet, completed questionnaires, along with a baby picture and a senior picture, must be turned in to the church office no later than next Sunday, March 11.

Sunday, March 18, from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the Ministry Center, we will be hosting Evie Gardner for a missions presentation. Evie will update us on the work being done in Kenya, as well as the work she and Don do throughout the Africa East Field.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Evie, and her husband, Don, have been serving as global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene for over 25 years. They currently reside in Nairobi, Kenya. When our work and witness teams travel to Kenya we are housed on the same compound where Don & Evie live. Evie coordinates the housing in the flats and is always a gracious hostess, meeting us for lunch and conversation on every trip.

Evie received her B.A. degree in elementary education from Mid America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas. In October, 2014 she acquired her Masters of Education at Africa Nazarene University. She is the East Africa Work & Witness and Event Coordinator. She also is mentor for many young adults and leads one internationally attended Bible study fellowship.

The Weekly Connection is intended to focus our church family on some of the important things going on in the life of our church this week, or in the near future.  Remember, you may always visit The Events Calendar to see a more complete list of our upcoming events.

OUR MISSION is to Love God, Love Each Other, and Love The World.

“Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart…soul…and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.’” – Matthew 22:37-40

“Jesus said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.’” – Matthew 28:19-20

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:34-35

OUR VISION is to lead people into a life that is completely connected; firmly rooted in our love for God and fully expressed through our love for others. This is lived out in relationships as we Gather, Grow, & Go.
