Opportunity to work with Refugee Families Resettling in AZ

I recently met with the Faith and Community Engagement Coordinator at Refugee Focus to talk about the possibility of Crossroads cosponsoring a resettling refugee family.

Cosponsoring refugee families requires a core group of 5-8 people who can attend a 2 1/2 hour training and then commit to partnering with the family for 3-6 months.

It involves things like welcoming them at the airport, welcoming home the family, preparing a meal for the day/evening of their arrival, helping with furnishings and food supplies, etc. It can also involve other helpful things like conversations, transportation to and from appointments, being a community guide, etc. , depending on the level of engagement & relationship we choose to develop.

If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity and being a part of the cosponsorship, please contact Heidi Shirley-Hawes, Mercy Director.

OUR MISSION is to Love God, Love Each Other, and Love The World.

“Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart…soul…and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.’” – Matthew 22:37-40

“Jesus said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.’” – Matthew 28:19-20

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:34-35

OUR VISION is to lead people into a life that is completely connected; firmly rooted in our love for God and fully expressed through our love for others. This is lived out in relationships as we Gather, Grow, & Go.
